CH K'Mander Has To Be FowlPlay
Well, there is a bit of a story behind Logan … A few years back, our Bailey’s mom Amanda
(CH Fowlplay Wing K’Mander) was bred to Simon (CH Rainbow’s Autumn Classic). Out of that litter was a lovely girl, Fling (CH K’Mander Has to Be Fowlplay). As we watched her grow up we were taken by her physical attributes, and matter-of-factly let her breeder know that if he ever decided to breed her to give us a call. Some time later, Fling was bred to Dylan (CH BISS K’Mander Black Diamond Bay) and we got that phone call! We jumped at the chance and now are the proud owners of “yellow boy”, K’Mander Island Runner, Logan. We already decided on Logan (from X-MEN) as a call name, and this was the “I” litter, so we chose ‘Island’ in his registered name basically because we live on one, and ‘Runner’ for the book/movie/TV show, Logan’s Run.
Logan is a high-spirited, energetic, tail-waggin’ dog, now a handsome adult. He has tireless determination to perform while working and/or playing. He showed early promise in the show ring despite being a wiggly butt. With a Best-of-Breed and third place in the puppy sporting group at a local match, Reserve and Best of Breed Puppy at New Brunswick Kennel Club in NJ (his first show), he won his first point at the Twin Brooks Kennel Club the next day. In July 2007, he finished his championship by going Best-of-Breed at the Twin Brooks KC show in NJ. Logan still specials on occasion, and continues to have success in the conformation ring.
Logan is currently training in Rally, Tracking and Agility.
