Handled by Margaret, Lylah earns Winner's Bitch (WB), Best of Winners (BoW) and Best of Opposite Sex (BOS) for 2 points under judge Edeltraud Laurin. Keep piling up those points Lylah! Great things are in your future. |

trials - Secaucus, NJ: A new title for Crystal !!! After 2 flawless runs each in Standard Excellent and Excellent
Jumpers, Crystal earns the third leg of her MXJ title and is now known as, TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RE AX *MXJ* NAC TN-N
RL1 CGC. For the weekend Crystal and Margaret earned two double Qs and more MACH points. Yay Crystal ... don't stop now!

South Windsor KC dog show (NEFCRC supported entry) - Lylah finishes 4th in a large
open bitch class under judge Sandra Goose Allen.
Islandflats good friend Chance, CH TLC Carry the Torch Chance CD *NAP* RA earns
a new title in Novice Agility Preferred. Crystal is very proud of her older brother.

Back Mountain KC Dog Shows - Bloomsburg, PA: A busy weekend for the Islandflats crew ... Sat, Oct 31: A NEW TITLE FOR Lylah !!! With another qualifying score in the obedience ring (handled by Terry), Lylah earned her third leg in Novice Obedience and with that comes the title: Companion Dog (CD). She is now known as Islandflats American Pie *CD* RN CGC. Logan showed in best of breed, but he wasn't chosen this time. Sun, Nov 1: Lylah won Reserve Winners Bitch to a 5 point major! Still no points, but avery impressive conformation showing. Afterwards, she earned another qualifying score (an insurance leg) in obedience! Also,Crystal earned high qualifying scores in Rally Excellent (handled by Terry) and in Rally Advanced (handled by Margaret) to earn another leg towards her RAE title. Dog juggling in PA. - WOW! |

Ramapo KC dog show - Augusta NJ: It's Crystal's turn in the Rally ring again. Handled by Terry, Crystal earns a qualifying score in the Excellent class, and then earns another qualifying score and a third place finish in the Advanced class! That's another leg towards her RAE title - only 8 more to go ... |

Palisades KC dog show - Augusta NJ: After a long hiatus, Logan enters the conformation ring and wins Best of Breed under judge Betsy Yates. He strutted his stuff flawlessly, in a large entry to get the rosette. Speaking of large entries, Lylah won Reserve Winners Bitch to a 4 pt major. That means that although she didn't earn any championship points, she beat a lot of other dogs in the ring. We're so proud of our "L" dogs! |

The Yankee Classic, West Springfield, MA: Friday, July 3: Kennelworth KC Obedience Trial: Lylah enters the obedience ring with Terry, for her first ever obedience trial and earns a qualifying score in the Novice class! OK, so the performance was sloppy, and her score was a bare minimum qualify but we'll take it. Maybe we'll do better next time ... Saturday, July 4 (Happy Birthday America) Farmington Valley KC Obedience and Rally Trials: Crystal sets out on a new venture; the RAE title in Rally O. Handled by Margaret, Crystal earns a qualifying score in Excellent, and a qualifying score in Advanced, with a fourth place finish! She just missed a perfect score. Only 9 more QQs needed for the new title. At the same time, in another ring, Lylah was doing novice obedience with Terry. They did better than yesterday and earned their second qualifying score for the CD title. One more to go ... Later that night the Islandflats crew celebrated with fireworks, barbeque, and cool libations (what else)! |

2009 Flat-Coated Retriever Society
of America National Specialty - Warwick, RI: The Islandflats crew heads to our breed nationals. All our dogs were entered
in several events. Crystal in Agility and Veteran Sweeps. Logan in Brace Conformation (with Lylah), Rally-O, and BOB. Lylah in
Obedience, Brace Conformation (with Logan), and Open Bitch. The minute we arrived, Lylah goes into season ... scratch obedience and
brace conformation. Crystal has problems running agility, but she does earn a Special Veteran's medal in veteran sweeps. Logan
earns a qualifying score and rosette in Rally; and that's about it. Even though the judges didn't favor our dogs in the
conformation events, we all had such a great time! Kudos to the NEFCRC for planning and organizing an event that will always carry
happy, long lasting memories at Islandflats.

SOTC Agility Trials, Yaphank, NY: After a long winter with limited training, Margaret & Crystal are back in the agility ring. Today, Crystal earns her first ever MACH points with a qualifying score in Excellent B jumpers. OK so we don't exactly have aspirations to go MACH, but Crystal showed she has what it takes by placing fifth in a tough class, on a difficult course. We definitely see more such points in her future! |
