July 4-5, 2008	The Yankee Classic, West Springfield, MA: Another big weekend for the Islandflats crew! Friday, July 4: Kenilworth Kennel Club of Connectticut. Lylah earns her first AKC title !!! Margaret handled Lylah and earned her third qualifying score in the Rally Obedience (Novice class) ring. Lylah is now known as Islandflats American Pie RN* CGC.* Lylah received a new title rosette, courtesy of the Yankee Classic. We're so proud of our girl. Now it's off to bigger and better things ... Also, Lylah's very good friend, Jesse entered the Rally advanced ring, and earned another leg towards her Rally Advanced title. Saturday, July 5:Farmington Valley Kennel Club. Crystal is at it again in the Rally ring. Handled by Margaret, Crystal earns her first leg in Rally Excellent. Bailey also returns to the Rally ring with Terry, and he also earns his first leg in Rally Excellent, with a 4th place finish! Lylah goes back into the Rally ring (this time with Terry) and earns a bumper leg in Rally Novice, thereby sealing her newly acquired title. It doesn't end there ...Crystal's older sibling, Chance has a heck of a day too! First he shows in Rally and earns a leg towards his Rally advanced title. Next, he enters the conformation ring, and wins a Group 4 in the Sporting Group Veteran's Class! Both Jesse and Chance were handled by their mom, Judy.
June 7 - 8, 2008	Southern Berkshire Golden Retriever Club Agility Trials (AKC), Westfield, MA: Crystal took a trip up north and did her thing on Sunday qualifying for both her first Open Standard and first Open Jumpers legs with clean runs, scores of 100 and 2^nd and 3^rd places respectively! Crystal would like to give a great big WAY TO GO! to big brother Chance (CH TLC Carry the Torch Chance CD RN CGC) for earning his FIRST Novice Agility Preferred leg with a clean run, score of 100 and FIRST PLACE on Saturday, June 7, 2008! Chance and his Mom, Judy, came home with a big blue ROSETTE to commemorate the feat! Way to Go, Bro!!!!!
May 24 - 25, 2008	Long Island Agility NADAC Trials,Cathedral Pines Park, Long Island, NY: Crystal completes her NAC title with a clean run, 10 points and 2^nd Place! She also got 2 more qualifying clean runs with a 2^nd and 3^rd place, 10 points each giving her 50 points towards her O-NAC! She proved to be a speed demon in tunnelers, getting her first 10 points towards her TN-N, clean run, 3^rd place!
May 18, 2008	Skyline Agility Club - NADAC trials - Yorktown Heights, NY: Crystal and Margaret take their first stab at NADAC agility! Crystal earned her first 10 pts. towards her NJC by placing second, with a clean run in Novice Jumpers. Then she earned her first 20 pts. towards her NAC by placing first in each of her two runs (with clean runs) in Novice Regular. Looks as though Crystal and agility were made for eachother!
April 7, 2008	Another Birthday !!! The Islandflats Rock N Roll "A" litter turns 2 today. Lylah wishes her littermates: Piper, C.J. and Rasta a very happy birthday! Extra treats and toys to all the puppies on this special day!
April 6, 2008	Long Island Golden Retriever Club Agility Trials - Yaphank, NY: A bumper leg for Crystal !!! Today, Crystal made sure everybody knew she earned her NA title by going back into the Novice Agility ring with Margaret, and earned another qualifying score with a fourth place finish! Terry was also lucky , as he won one of the raffle gift baskets offered by the club. Despite the damp, cold conditions, it was a successful weekend for Islanflats!
April 5, 2008	Brookhaven KC Agility Trials - Yaphank, NY: ANOTHER TITLE FOR Crystal !!! With a clean run, and a second place finish in Novice Agility, Crystal earns her third leg and her NA designation! Crystal's registered name just got longer:TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RA NA NAJ RL1 CGC. Margaret and Crystal made it look easy, then they proceeded to collect their ribbons. Congratulations Crystal !!!
March 22, 2008	New Brunswick KC dog show - Edison, NJ: Logan competes against a tough field in conformation and is awarded Best of Breed, under judge Ms. Carol S. Brown. It was a busy time for Logan who was washed and groomed hours before the show, and who cheered from the sideline as his daughter Lylah competed in the Open Bitches Class. Unfortunately, Lylah didn't fare as well as her daddy did. Logan and Lylah were both handled by Margaret. Way to go Logan !!!

February 1, 2008	Crystal turns 6 years old! The matriarch of the Islandflats crew celebrates her birthday, and gets a new toy, as well as extra treats with her dinner. Happy Birthday Crystal !
November 23 - 25, 2007	2007 Thanksgiving Classic, W. Springfield, MA - Islandflats eats turkey, & visits New England, "The Big E" ... South Windsor KC Dog Show (Nov 23) - Handled by Terry, Logan earns the second leg of his Rally Novice title! He was a bit sloppy in the ring, but he easily qualified.Nice going! The Canine Good Citizen test was also held at the site, and later that day, Terry took Lylah to be evaluated. Despite the fact that she spent a great deal of time sniffing the ground, Lylah was a good girl, and she earned her CGC designation! She is now: Islandflats American Pie CGC. Yay Lylah! Windham County KC Dog Show (Nov 24) - Again, Terry and Logan hit the Rally trail. This time Logan performs beautifully, and just misses placing in a very competitive class. Logan earns his third Rally Novice leg and with it comes a new title: CH K'Mander Island Runner RN CGC. Good boy Logan !!! Berkshire Belgian Tervuren Club Agility Trail (Nov 24) - Margaret and Crystal head back into the Agility ring ... A clean run in Standard Novice earns Crystal her first leg in that class. Crystal earns her second leg in Novice Jumpers with another clean run, and a second place finish in her class! Leap Agility Club of Central Massachusetts trial (Nov 25) - More agility for Crystal and Margaret. Another clean run in Standard Novice with another second place finish in her class earns Crystal another rosette, and her second leg. One more leg to go! One more time in the Novice Jumpers ring, and it's another clean run with another second place finish! That's the third leg, and it comes with a new title: TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RA NAJ RL1 CGC. For the weekend, Crystal had four qualifying clean runs with three second place finishes. Poor Bailey ... He also participated in Obedience and Rally this weekend, but he didn't do so well. But he did support his family, and for being such a good boy, he got a new toy.
November 4, 2007	Staten Island Companion Dog Training Club Agility Trials - Staten Island, NY: Islandflats goes Agility this time ... Crystal qualified for her first Novice Jumpers leg with a first place finish in her class! Crystal is handled and trained by Margaret, and this was their first ever Agility Trials. Great job !!!
October 14, 2007	K-9 Pawsable Events APDT Rally Trial - Freehold, NJ: Crystal added an RL1 to her list of titles, qualifying at both of the day's trials, and finishing her title with a 3rd place! She is now:TLC Starlite's First Gleaming CD RA RL1. Woohoo Crystal !!!
September 27-28, 2007	The Long Island Cluster, Oyster Bay NY - Brookhaven Kennel Club (Sept 28); Suffolk County Kennel Club (Sept 29): Logan represents the Long Island Flat-Coated Retrievers by winning Best of Breed at both shows! Unfortunately, he doesn't get the same accolades in the Sporting Group Ring, but he certainly gave the judges something nice to look at. Nice going Logan!
September 14, 2007	Logan turns three today!!! OK, we're ashamed to admit it, but there are some other things going on in our home at the moment that we actually forgot Logan's birthday (we know - not a good excuse). So, we decided that we will make up for it tomorrow. Logan will accompany us to the pet store to get a new toy, and as per Islandflats birthday tradition, all our dogs (and people) will celebrate with vanilla Flying Saucers from Carvel. SorryLogan ... that won't happen again!
September 8, 2007	Somerset Hills KC dog show, North Branch, NJ: It was a long hot day for theIslandflats crew. The day began in the conformation ring, where Lylah was awarded Reserve Winners Bitch under Judge, Patricia Hess. Later that day, in uncomfortable heat and humidity, Lylah earned her second leg in Rally Novice! Both times, Lylah was handled by Margaret. Logan didn't want to get left out, so he stepped into the Rally Novice ring with Terry, and earned his first leg - with a third place finish! Despite the heat and humidity, the Islandflats father - daughter tandem came home with ribbons! Nice job!! * NEFCRC Summer fun day - Logan and Lylah's good friend, Chowder** earns his CGC! Congratulations to: Beachcliff's Time in New England CGC
